Bolivia
Boliva is famous for its lakes: the deep blue Lake Titicaca (the world´s
highest navigable lake) and the Salar de Uyuni (the world´s biggest saline
lake).
The country with borders to Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil
is also called Tibet of South America because of its altitude.

Its geography is varied between peaks of the Andes in the west to the eastern lowlands situated in the Amazon Basin. Between two mountain ranges of the Andes there is the central plain Altiplano where 80% of the population live.
70% of Bolivia´s 10.6 Million inhabitants belong to indigenous cultures. Most of them speak Quechua o Amymara and the indigenous culture is omnipresent in Bolivia´s Inka hulks, traditional costumes, colourful village markets and music of the Andes.
In the area of the Amazonas in the east of Bolivia there are 21 national parks. The most amazing one is the Noel Kempff Mercado National Park that was declared a World Natural Heritage site in 2000 and is very well preserved.
