Barcelona, situated on the Mediterranean Sea, has more than 1,6 million inhabitants and is an extremely cosmopolitan city. It is the heart of the autonomous region of Cataluña and is located in the southeast of Spain, in one of the richest and most modern regions of the country. It produces about 20% of the country’s entire production and has taken a prominent role in the economic development of Spain.

Barcelona hosted the Olympics of 1992, which are still well remembered. In Barcelona, the old and the modern are combined beautifully. The city is full of interesting places: ‘El Barrio Gótico’, ‘La Rambla’, ‘La Plaza de Catalunya’, ‘The Olympic Harbor’, ‘Picasso Museum’, and the ‘Miró Foundation’. Visitors can admire the works of the world-famous architect Antonio Gaudí and enjoy his beautiful Güell Park, ‘La Pedrera’, and ‘La Sagrada Familia’
And, of course, there are Barcelona’s beautiful white beaches, which also make this city one of the most visited places in Spain.
