Granada is one of the most beautiful historical cities in the south of Spain and in the heart of Andalusia. Today, it has 290 000 inhabitants.

Granada was the last royal residence of the Arabs in the Western world; among other historical monuments of the Arab heyday, you find Spain’s most visited monument, the Alhambra. While strolling through the town you can feel the “authentic Spain,” an atmosphere that gives Granada its typical charm and can almost be smelled in every corner of the town.

The mountain range of the Sierra Nevada is only 40 kilometres away and offers skiing from December to April. And only 50 kilometres from Granada is the Costa del Sol, with its tropical microclimate and sunshine almost 12 months of the year.

The Granada University offers a very lively nightlife, and you find countless bars in the historical old town. Here you can taste the many different tapas that are very often served free with your drink.

Granada has a rich cultural life and offers many leisure time activities all year round, for all tastes and all ages.

Andalusia’s true value lies in its versatility, in its heritage from three cultures: Christian, Muslim, and Jewish. Altogether, they had managed to live in harmony until they were defeated by intolerance. What we share with the rest of Europe are the famous cave paintings, the Roman heritage, the simplicity of Romanesque art, and the splendour of Gothic art. But unique are the historical milestones of Granada, Córdoba and Toledo (Castilla-La Mancha), where three different religions had lived together peacefully. In all of Spain, but especially in Granada, you can find both large cities and small villages.
